Applications are reviewed once a file becomes complete which means all required documentation has been received by the Georgia College Admissions Office. Admission files should be complete by the indicated priority deadlines.

Second Undergraduate (Degree-Seeking Transfers)

Applicants who received their Bachelor's degree from another institution and would like to earn a different, second undergraduate degree at Georgia College (i.e. Earned a B.S. in Biology, but applying to earn B.A. in Geography). If applicant is interested in earning a second undergraduate degree within the same degree (i.e. B.S. in Biology, but applying to earn B.S. in Chemistry), please view our Post-Baccalaureate (Degree Seeking) requirements.

Please note: B.S. and B.S.N. degrees are classified as different degrees.

1. Undergraduate Application

The Undergraduate application is used to apply as a degree-seeking student. Please submit ONLY ONE application and use ONLY that application all the way through to submission. Submitting more than one application will most certainly delay your admission decision.

2. Application Fee/Fee Waiver

The $35 (non-refundable) online application fee is payable at the time of application. The paper application fee is $40. If you submitted your application without paying the fee, you may do so by clicking here.

  • Applicants who applied and/or enrolled and paid the application fee within the past six years

If you are exempt from paying the application fee, please select “Fee Waiver” option on your application to secure this waiver. 

3. Official College Transcript(s)

Official transcripts must be sent directly from each and every college attended (including technical institutions) to the GC Office of the Admissions.

Faxed documents and copies provided by the student are NOT considered official and will not be used for admission purposes.

4. Lawful Presence Verification

Lawful Presence Verification is required of all students before they can begin class. Most common ways we accept LPVs:

  • In person: Stop by our office with a certified copy and we will make a copy of the certified copy

Note: If student mails us the original birth certificate, we will not be able to release the document back to them.

Second Undergraduate (Degree-Seeking Returning)

Applicants who received their Bachelor's degree from Georgia College, never attended another college after Georgia College and would like to earn a different, second undergraduate degree at Georgia College (i.e. Earned a B.S. in Biology, but applying to earn B.A. in Geography). If applicant is interested in earning a second undergraduate degree within the same degree (i.e. B.S. in Biology, but applying to earn B.S. in Chemistry), please view our Post-Baccalaureate (Degree-Seeking) requirements.

3: Admit Final

The coursework you’ve submitted has been reviewed and you have been fully admitted.

Notification: An official e-mail will be sent to your personal e-mail address alerting you of the status change.

Post-Baccalaureate (Degree-Seeking)

Applicants who have already received a Bachelor's degree and wish to earn a different major in the same degree. (i.e. Earned a B.A. in Fine Arts, but applying to earn B.A. in Mass Communication)

1. Undergraduate Application

The Undergraduate application is used to apply as a degree-seeking student. Please submit ONLY ONE application and use ONLY that application all the way through to submission. Submitting more than one application will most certainly delay your admission decision.

Post-Baccalaureate (Non-Degree Seeking)

Applicants who have already received a Bachelor's degree and wish to take a few courses, but do not want to earn another degree (You will receive a grade and credit for the courses). 

Note: This type is popular for students who need pre-requisite courses to apply to a professional program.

Non-Degree Seeking (Certification)

Applicants who have already received a Bachelor's degree and wish to take classes to complete a certification program, but do not want to earn another degree.

Class Auditing Requirements 

Auditing a course allows you to take a class without the benefit of a grade or credit for the course. Audit courses are for the purpose of self-enrichment and academic exploration. Courses are offered ONLY on a space-available basis with the approvals of both the instructor of the course and the Registrar's Office. An auditor is considered a passive learner and may not recite in class or take examinations, but is expected to attend classes with reasonable regularity.

4. Contact Course Professor and Registrar's Office
  • You must first contact the professor of the specific course to receive approval to audit the course. Please have the professor complete and sign the Add Course Card found here. Please visit our public directory to locate professor contact information: https://directory.gcsu.edu/ 
  • Bring the completed Add Course Card to the Georgia College Registrar's Office at 107 Parks Hall, Milledgeville, GA 31061 to add the course.

Students admitted for auditing purposes must update their application every semester by submitting the Undergraduate Update Form and become regularly admitted to enroll in future terms. Students must also receive written approval from the course professor and Registrar’s Office for each semester they wish to attend.
