Registration Information
On-line Student Registration
Students may register on-line through the PAWS section of mycats.gcsu.edu once all holds are cleared. Registration is also available in the Office of the Registrar, Milledgeville Campus, 107 Parks Hall. Your advisor's signature is required for registration in the Office of the Registrar if the Advisor Hold has not been released.
GCID
Georgia College issues every student a randomly generated GCID number. To protect the privacy of your records and personal information your GCID will not be mailed to you, but can be retrieved through a form located within your http://mycats.gcsu page. Look for "My New GCID" and click on the available web link.
myCATS PORTAL AND ECATS EMAIL
The myCATS system provides a number of features to help you interact more effectively with your university, such as e-mail and course tools. Through myCATS, you will have access to e-mail, announcements and message boards, headlines and more. To begin navigating the online world of GCSU, visit http://mycats.gcsu.edu. Your User ID for this secure site is the beginning portion of your ecats email address (typically formatted as firstname_lastname or firstname_lastname# Examples: john_doe or jane_doe3) and your PIN number begins as your birthdate (formatted as MMDDYY). Once inside the myCATS area, you may then retrieve your new Georgia College ID number (GCID). If you have problems logging in or have forgotten you password, click the appropriate link under the password box for help.
Holds
Students should check their holds prior to registration by logging into myCATS, clicking the Student Tab at the top and selecting Student & Financial Aid from the PAWS link, clicking Student Records, and then clicking View Holds. If holds exist, you should contact the appropriate department with questions and concerns. If you have an Advisor Hold, you must contact you advisor through your major department for permission to register.
