Beginning with
the March 2005 administration of the SAT, the
College Board has added a new component – a
writing assessment. The ACT has also added
an optional writing test. Although GCSU
will accept SAT and ACT score reports from
earlier tests, and utilize them in our
deliberations, our freshman and transferring
freshman applicants for Fall 2006 and beyond
must submit at least one official SAT or ACT
score report which includes the writing
assessment.
Note: GCSU
will utilize only the Critical Reading and
Math scores from the new SAT and the English,
Math and Composite scores from the ACT.
GCSU will also review the timed writing
samples from these tests as part of the
student’s overall portfolio.
