• Transient
Students – if you are enrolled at another
college or university and are home for the summer, take advantage
of our convenient class offerings – GCSU credits
are generally accepted at other colleges and universities. For

• Transfer
– if you have completed your associate degree or have
been out of school for a while, why not get back on track at

• Special students and Non-degree seeking
– If you are a
student who just graduated from high school and have been admitted
to another college for the Fall and would like to get a jump

• Joint enrollment – if you are
a rising junior or senior in high school and want to get an
early start on your college career this may be just what you
were looking for and conveniently located right here at home.

•Timeline – Students should have all application
materials on file no later than April 1 for Maymester classes
or May 1 for any of the summer term classes.
•Course Load - During a short summer term, the
normal load is 6 semester hours per term. Students may take
only 3 semester hours during the Maymester. For courses going
through both summer terms, the maximum course load is 18 semester
hours. Any hours in excess of this must have the approval of
the faculty adviser and the Dean of the School.
• Degrees and Programs – You may just enjoy
your summer at GCSU so much you will want to stay with
