Aiding Haiti

1. GC's volunteer service operation, The GIVE Center, is serving as a coordinating clearinghouse for students who wish to connect with Haiti relief efforts on campus.  Students are being asked to contact them 478-445-4027 or http://www.gcsu.edu/give for further information and referral. One concerned student has already organized students to raise over $2,000 for a relief fund at a local Milledgeville bank.

2. Junior Hillary Daniel from Covington is collaborating with a team of medical professionals from Georgia who will be traveling to Haiti in March to provide care to those affected by the earthquakes. They are asking for donations of sealed over-the-counter common medicines such as Tylenol, Motrin, aspirin, vitamin C and multivitamins that are in pill form because pills may be more efficiently packed than liquids. Hillary has arranged for collections to be accepted at the GC Student Health Center and wants to have all donations in hand by the end of February. She can be reached through the GIVE Center contact information above.

3. The Georgia College Circle K sold "Hands for Haiti" buttons on February 9 and 10 to raise money for supplies for the Haiti relief efforts.
