Brief Description: Blackbridge Hall Art Gallery is proud to present Delicate Intricacies, an exhibition produced by Atlanta based artist Laura Bell. Delicate Intricacies is a survey exhibition featuring mixed media paintings, prints and drawings. Through an intuitive process, Laura Bell creates highly organic and intricate images that reference both microscopic and macroscopic elements in nature.
When talking about her work, Bell says, “The images reference the natural world and the astonishing, often unsettling beauty found in natural phenomenon is explored through the use of hybrid, imaginary, and existent imagery.”
Bell’s work explores the possibilities for disruption and fluctuation that grow out of an orderly structure. She references elements that contain both destructive power and unexpected beauty, creating imagery that is ambiguous yet alluring.
Bell was born in Seattle, Washington. She received a Bachelors of Arts from The Evergreen State College and a Masters of Fine Arts from the Tyler School of Art.
This exhibition is curated by Georgia College senior art major, Katie Herrig, in fulfillment of her Museum Studies capstone thesis project.
