MSCM Internships

Internship Overview

Mass Communication majors are required to complete a for-credit internship prior to graduation.
Internships give Mass Communication majors practical experience in their chosen field in a supervised, educational, and off-campus setting. Internships act almost like a safety net for a student to test the waters of certain divisions and/or pathways. Through the internship requirement, students gain a chance to network with professionals and thrive in new environments. Our faculty believe our students are more likely to succeed after graduation if students put in effort into their careers prior to leaving campus.

I just wanted to let you know that I highly recommend the Mass Comm Internship program, both for the student and the employer. We have participated in the program for about 15 years now with great success. I have had the opportunity to hire several of the interns and was able to assist others in finding employment. We found the interns' attitudes, preparedness, and quality of work exceeded our expectations. GCSU has done a great job preparing these young adults to enter the workforce. We can't wait to sign up for our next ones.
