of the Georgia College softball team (35-21) was named GCSU Athlete of the Week, the sports information office announced today (May 17). The award honors the top performance by a Bobcat student-athlete in the week ending May 13. This is the first honor for Baitey and the fourth for the Lady Bobcats.
Baitey earned NCAA Division II Softball South Atlantic Region All-Tournament Team honors by hitting 5-for-12 with two runs and two RBI. She scored two runs and drove in one in the 10-1 blowout win over Carson-Newman College.
Georgia College finished a 35-21 season, the sixth 30-win season in school history and second in head coach
Ginger Miller’s two seasons. The Lady Bobcats earned four all-region selections for their efforts.
