MARTINEZ, Ga. – Junior centerfielder Sherquita Bostick (Florence, S.C.) of the No. 2 Georgia College & State University softball team (26-6, 5-3 PBC) was named Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Player of the Week, the league office announced today (March 24). The honor is the first of the season for Bostick and the Lady Bobcats.
Bostick set the table well for the Lady Bobcats this week, hitting .583 (7-12) from the leadoff spot, scoring a team-best three runs on a light scoring week. Her best game came in the 6-2 win over North Georgia College & State University Saturday, as she went a perfect 4-for-4 with a pair of runs and a solo shot.
The award is the first weekly conference honor for Bostick in her career. Georgia College softball has won six of these awards all-time.
Bostick and the rest of the Lady Bobcats are back in action Tuesday, March 25 at 4 p.m. when they travel to Lander University.
