GCSU Pep Band
The GCSU Pep Band was established in 1990 to provide music and entertainment at GCSU's home basketball games. They also work with the cheerleaders to promote school spirit at the games. Over the years the Pep Band has set a standard for other NCAA Division II university pep bands to follow. After the Peach Belt Conference's annual tournament expanded to include pep bands, cheerleaders, dance teams, and mascots from each university, the GCSU Pep Band has continued to win first place for many years.
Auditions for the GCSU Pep Band are in late October or early November each year. Auditions are only open to members of the GCSU Concert Band. Each member of the Pep Band receives a stipend for participation. The GCSU Pep Band performs at all of the home men's and women's basketball games and the annual Peach Belt tournament.
