How to Register

To register you will sign into paws.gcsu.edu.

Your ID will normally be your 911 GC ID number, and your PIN, either your birth date written in this format ” 010183” or whatever you have changed your PIN to.

At the main menu you will select the Student and Financial Aid option

Then you will select the Registration option.

And finally you will select the Drop or Add Courses Option

The next screen will be where you select which term you are registering for. Once that is selected, the main registration page will appear.

On this screen you can either enter a CRN number for a course, or you can search for open seats in a course using the class search option. NOTE if there are no available seats, the class will not come up.

Registration Errors

There are a variety of registration errors that may appear during the registration process. You should carefully read each error message to determine what the issue is. For example, PAWS will not let you register for any course which conflicts in any way with the time of another course. It will also not allow you to register for a science without a matching lab. If you do not understand the error message, contact your advisor.

Holds

Advisor holds are released after you have met with your advisor prior to each registration period. Holds go back on automatically after the drop/add period ends each semester. There are also other holds such as parking tickets, library late fees, immunization, that can keep you from being able to register. You should check your holds under the “student records” tab in the PAWS box on the MyCats page, and get your holds cleared prior to registration.
