Georgia College Business Mentorship Program
The Business Mentorship Program is designed to pair current business students with current or former business executives from around the community whom they will meet with throughout the academic year. The purpose of the mentor program is to provide the opportunity for students to develop a relationship with a mentor who could provide guidance and feedback relative to a variety of areas such as school, career planning, and life in general. The objectives and structure for the mentor and mentor partner relationship is left up to the members themselves, allowing them to focus on their own areas of interest.
Mentorship is about more than simply giving advice to one lacking in experience and seeking guidance. It is about developing a relationship with that person and helping him or her reach their full potential in all aspects of life. Mentoring is not supposed to be a task to be checked off a list, but rather a process that requires investments of time and energy from both mentors and their partners. If done right a mentoring relationship can be rewarding for both parties as they learn through each other’s experience and knowledge.
