Scholarship, Fellowship & Grant Opportunities

Our scholarships provide students with opportunities to assist with paying college expenses after they become GCSU students. Fellowships provide students with a paid internship during the summer followed by scholarship funds the next school year. Grant opportunities provide funding for students to attend activities that they many not otherwise be able to do.

Anthony Tan Scholarship

Requirements: 

  • Status: Rising sophomore, junior, or senior
  • Management Information Systems or Computer Science majors (declared)
  • Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
  • Full-time enrollment for both semesters of the academic year
Harry Glover Scholarship

The Harry Glover Scholarship was created to honor Dr. Harry Glover, a former faculty member and department chair. This scholarship is awarded to individuals who have showed a progressive improvement in GPA.

Requirements:

  • Status: Rising senior
  • Major: Management Information Systems or Computer Science majors (declared)
  • Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
  • Essay required of finalists 
  • Full-time enrollment for both semesters of the next academic year
Infinity Education Scholarship

Requirements: 

  • Status: Rising junior or senior
  • Management Information Systems major
  • Cumulative GPA of at least 2.8
  • Student should show involvement with the major
  • Essay required
  • Preference given to individuals working at least 20 hours per week
  • Preference given to individuals who have or had an internship or job in the IT field
  • Full-time enrollment for both semesters of the next academic year
Thiele Kaolin Fellowship

Requirements: 

  • Status: Rising junior preferred
  • Even spring: Computer Science major  - Odd Spring: Management Information Systems major
  • Cumulative GPA of at least 2.5
  • Must follow required application process for internship

Recipients receive a paid summer internship completed for 3 hours of course credit at Thiele Kaolin in Sandersville.

Women in Technology Grant

The Information Technology Advisory Board holds a competition every spring to select a female student(s) to send to the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing Conference the next fall.

Requirements: 

  • Status: Rising junior or senior (senior preferred)
  • Female Computer Science or Management Information Systems major
  • Cumulative GPA of at least 2.75
  • Resume and essay required for competition
  • Grant pays for registration, hotel, and airfare. Recipient is responsible for any other travel costs.
