Liberal Arts MBA - Frequently Asked Questions

The Liberal Arts MBA program does not require that you complete prerequisite courses in business prior to applying to the program.
2. Can I apply to the Liberal Arts MBA program if my undergraduate degree is in business?
No. This program is designed specifically for students with an earned baccalaureate degree in a non-business discipline. If you have an undergraduate degree in business, you are encouraged to apply to our traditional part-time MBA program offered in Macon and Warner Robins.
3. Will I be able to specialize in an area?
No. The program aims to provide students with a broad management perspective while developing a range of skills and knowledge from the fundamental business disciplines.
4. How often do classes meet?
Each class typically meets two times per week.
5. What does a lock-step sequence mean?
A lock-step sequence means that students enter the program during a specific semester and complete the program with a cohort group taking specified courses each semester as a group.
6. Will there be an orientation?
There will be a mandatory orientation on Tuesday, May 29. Classes begin May 30, 2012.

There are typically 20-30 students in the incoming MBA class.
8. Can I transfer credit into your full-time Liberal Arts MBA program?

9. Can I take MBA courses offered at Macon and Warner Robins and count them toward the Liberal Arts MBA program?
Students may not switch back and forth between the Liberal Arts MBA and the traditional MBA because the Liberal Arts MBA is a lock-step cohort program. Liberal Arts MBA courses are reserved for the students in the cohort.

Admission is highly selective and is based on undergraduate performance, GMAT score, individual essay, letters of recommendation, and an interview.

Yes. Please bear in mind that it is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that all three recommendations are submitted by the deadline date.
19. Who should recommendations come from?
We suggest that of the three recommendations, two come from academic professors. The third recommendation can come from a professional or personal source. Recommendations should be individuals who know the candidate well and who can attest to the candidate's potential for successful completion of graduate studies.
20. What is the process for recommenders?
The recommendations are submitted separately from the candidates' application and will automatically be included in the application upon submission. Applicants should not wait for recommenders to submit their recommendations before submitting their applications.

We invite candidates to interview on an invitation-only basis after submission of a completed application. This is an excellent way to get to know Georgia College. Applicants invited for an interview but unable to visit campus will be provided the opportunity to complete a telephone interview as part of the admission review process.
22. What should I expect for my interview?
Your interview will last approximately 30 minutes and will be conducted by members of the MBA admissions board. Interviews may take place in person or over the phone.
