Career Services for Alumni

Alumni are always welcome to attend GCSU sponsored career fairs and employer activities.  Alumni may also contact the Career Center for assistance with resumes, interviewing, and job search strategies.

Hire GCSU Students
If you are an alumni who is interested in connecting with GCSU students about career opportunities, click here for information on being a mentor and recruiting as an employer.

Register with our Career Connection Job Software
Our new Career Connection software will allow alumni to stay connected with the opportunities and services provided through the Career Center.  View job postings, receive emails related to your major/field, sign up for campus interviews, access information in our online career resource library, and register for career fairs and workshops.  All alumni who use our services are required to register.  Please print out our Guide to Students and Alumni and click here to register.

Schedule an Appointment with a Career Advisor
If you need a career advisor to review your resume, provide job and internship search assistance, or advise you on career options, we recommend scheduling an appointment.  Before major events such as career fairs, students are encouraged to schedule a resume critique session.  Appointments can be made Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m..  Drop-in questions are always welcome, but an appointment is always recommended for longer advising sessions.  Contact Pam Spires at (478) 445-5384.

Career Fairs
The Career Center is involved in 5 career fairs each year.  Alumni are always invited to these events.  If you would like feedback on your resume prior to the event, please email one of our career advisors. You can never get too much feedback on this very important document!  Visit our Career Fair page for students as well as our Career Connection software for more information.

Campus Interviews
Alumni can now sign-up for campus interviews via our Career Connection software.  In addition to interviews for specific job openings, many companies visit campus to conduct practice interviews with students.  Practice interviews are also recommended for alumni since they offer a great way to network and connect with a company.

Robins Air Force Base
Many alumni contact us about opportunities to work at Robins Air Force Base, the largest employer in middle Georgia.  Please check the Campus Interview portion of Career Connection to see if they are interviewing on campus.  If they are not interviewing on campus, you must apply for jobs with them through www.usajobs.gov.  This federal career website also provides listings for all other federal positions.

Attend a Career Development Workshop
Register with Career Connection to view our calendar of events which includes workshops, career fairs, interviews, and employer information sessions.

On-line Resources
Access the Student Services section of our website for links to our public listing of career information.  However, our Career Resource Library on Career Connection provides you with all of our printed career information packets, sample resumes, and additional employer information.

Get Involved in the GCSU Alumni Association
As an alumni, you are automatically a member.  Contact Alumni Relations today to make sure you are in their database for receiving information about GCSU and alumni events.
