GC Graduate Program Showcase

GC Graduate Program Showcase
Monday, November 5, 2012
Front Campus from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
GC program registration form.
This event is for GC graduate programs and graduate student services offices only.

Purpose of the event:  All GC graduate programs are invited to promote their programs to current students at this new event.  As students consider career options, many are not as informed as they should be about the graduate school opportunities at Georgia College.  Student services offices that support the graduate school admissions process are also invited to participate in this event.

Registration:  Programs should pre-register by November 1.  If we do not receive a registration form from your department, then we will not be prepared for you the day of the event.  Once we receive your registration, you will receive a confirmation packet via email from us in within one business day.

Event set-up:  Participating academic departments and offices should check-in at the Career Center Tent located between Parks and Atkinson Halls at 10:30 a.m.  We anticipate setting up tables in the small patch of grass in front of that area.  Each registered program will have one table and chairs for the number of representatives reported at the time of registration.  In addition to providing handouts about your programs and setting up an attractive table display, you should also plan to have fellow faculty members or graduate students assist you with staffing the table. This event is informal so students will not be in professional attire or have resumes.

Event publicity:  The Career Center will promote this event to students throughout the semester through campus email, Facebook, and major events.  However, the best publicity is from faculty.  By encouraging students in your classes to attend, you are more likely to see your best students at the event.

Graduate & Professional School Admissions Fair:
This year we would like all GC graduate programs to register for the GC Graduate Program Showcase only.  By offering separate events for off campus and on campus programs, you will be able to showcase your programs more effectively.  We will market your participation in the on campus event to all students who attend the large graduate school fair in October.  We appreciate you also encouraging students to attend the large graduate school fair as well.
