Join us as we embark on a journey in Georgia’s Fall Line region in search of native flora and fauna.  During your time at camp, you will learn the basics of plant identification and then use your newly acquired skills to determine a variety of plants found along the Fall Line of Georgia.  You will also dive into the world of Georgia’s native animals by learning how to identify them and the evidence of their presence.  Each day will be filled with fun and adventure as you partake in daily field trips, which will include Andalusia Farm (Flannery O’Connor’s birthplace), Lockerly Arboretum (to see a variety of trees found all over the world), Georgia Forestry’s Selma Irwin Nature Preserve, The Oconee River Greenway and Georgia College’s Lake Laurel.  Through experiments and observations completed at these diverse locations, you will explore the interconnectedness of nature and how biodiversity and geology combine to create unique environments.  You will learn that plants and animals can serve as indicators of certain topographic traits and vice-versa along with so much more. We will end the week with a presentation for your friends and family on Friday afternoon. This is a week any true aspiring scientist will not want to miss!
