New Faculty Orientation Day

New Faculty Orientation Day, held every August, provides an introduction to Georgia College's liberal arts mission and culture, faculty roles and responsibilities, and institutional expectations. We build in time for new faculty to take care of some business regarding human resources, campus identification cards, parking, e-mail, and other practical issues. New Faculty Orientation Day also provides a basis from which to build professional and social networks through interaction with faculty and staff colleagues and contacts across campus. This networking continues in the New Faculty Orientation Program.

New Faculty Orientation Program

New faculty members meet on a monthly basis throughout their first academic year on campus to learn more about and to discuss (1) effective pedagogies and practices, (2) important legal and safety issues, and (3) campus resources and opportunities available to them in support of their teaching, research, and service responsibilities.
