Television Studio and Control Room
The two-camera television studio and control room located in 411 and 412 Atkinson Hall has been in operation since 1983. A new partnership with GCSU and Panasonic Broadcast resulted in a total digital video upgrade of all of its equipment in the summer of 2001.
The studio, featuring Panasonic DVCPro 575 cameras, DVCPro players and recorders, a FOR-A Video Switcher, a Mackie 16x4 audio console, Teleprompters, and other related equipment, is fully equipped to record individuals or small group presentations, news reports and class projects.
Through a broadcast partnership with the CBS affiliate WMAZ-TV Channel 13 in Macon, the TV studio also serves as their Milledgeville newsroom. This partnership allows our Mass Communication Telecomm students to work hand-in-hand with the station's reporters and videographers reporting local news stories during their 5, 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts.
WMAZ TV Channel 13 also provides two outstanding senior GCSU Mass Communication Telecomm scholarships each year.
