Judy Bailey
Media Relations Manager
Judy is the Media Relations Manager at Georgia College. She is an award-winning journalist with more than 20 years experience in print media. Her responsibilities include writing for university publications, creating and distributing news releases, and serving as a liaison with the news media.
Candace Morrow
Communications Specialist
A Milledgeville native, Candace Morrow joined Georgia College in 2010 after a few years of writing/reporting for a string of national and regional trade magazines based in Atlanta, Ga. She earned a bachelor's degree in print journalism from Georgia State University. In her current role, she is responsible for developing news and feature stories highlighting key university messages for distribution on the web, in publications and to the media. She works closely with individuals across all areas of the university and of diverse backgrounds.
Al Weston
Sports Information Director
Al Weston is Georgia College's Sports Information Director came to Milledgeville, Ga., by way of Lock Haven University in Lock Haven, Pa. There, he was in charge of media relations for an 18-sport Division II athletic program, including Division I wrestling and field hockey.
Weston earned a Bachelor of Arts in public relations from KSU in 2000, adding a M.A. in sport and recreation management in 2003. He is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), and is a District Coordinator for the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Program. He recently won the 2006 Mid-Atlantic Region Women's Volleyball SID of the Year from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
Jen Pirkle
Jen Pirkle is originally from Thomson, Ga. She got her undergraduate degree in Writing and Linguistics from Georgia Southern University and is currently working on her Creative Writing MFA at GC. After graduating in 2011, she hopes to pursue a career as a novelist for young adults.
