The Three Year Plan

Most students complete the MFA program in three years. To meet MFA requirements, students take a minimum of 18 credit hours in the first year and 12 credit hours in the second and third years. Note: for students on MFA assistantships who are eligible to teach, there are additional teaching/pedagogy courses and other requirements designed to support and prepare Teaching Fellows that are not included in the sample schedule below. This sample schedule is for the current 2015 – 2016 year and is subject to change in the 2016 – 2017 year.
