The Peacock's Feather
Each year, the GC Creative Writing Program works with Georgia College/Early College seventh grade students in a "Writers in the Schools" project, culminating in the publication of The Peacock's Feather, featuring the creative works by the GCEC seventh graders. In April, when the publication debuts, the GC Creative Writing Program MFA coordinators and Undergraduate mentors host a public reading from "the Feather" by the EC seventh grade students.
A GC undergraduate English major mentors one of his Early College seventh grade student writers. In the spring, the students publish their works in "The Peacock's Feather" and participate in a public reading attended by family, friends, and other supporters.
