News About Undergraduate Alumni

Many English-Creative Writing alumni have gone on to receive full graduate assistantships/fellowships at top MFA programs across the country. Our undergrad alumni have also begun to publish their works in national literary journals and presses.

But our students have also pursued careers in teaching (both junior high and secondary education), library science, and other fields.

Jeff Boedeker (GC 2004), former editor of The Peacock's Feet, pursued an MFA in Film Production at Boston University and has gone on to produce many film projects, including work featured on The Discovery Channell. You can read more about him in an article featured in Georgia College's Connections magazine.

Another 2004 grad, Adam Selzer, has had quite an exciting career publishing several Young Adult novels (many with Random House) and other books that all reflect his intelligent, irreverent sense of humor and pop culture. Learn more about him and how to order his books at Adam's website.

More recently, poets Hali Sofala and Joshua Lavender (see photos, sidebar) have continued their creative writing studies in graduate school. Stay tuned for more info. Who knows? In four years, we may be highlighting YOU on these pages!
