Each year, the Creative Writing Program at Georgia College hosts the Visiting Writers Series, in which distinguished authors give public readings and work with students. Previous visitors have included Alice Friman, ZZ Packer, Robert Olen Butler, Janet Burroway and many others. Neela Vaswani, author of You Have Given Me a Country, is part of our fall 2011 Visiting Writers Series.

Albert Goldbarth, part of our spring 2012 Visiting Writers Series, is the only poet to receive the National Book Critics Circle Award two times (for Saving Lives and Heaven and Earth: A Cosmology).
