At the Cultural Center, we believe that we are not separate from the surrounding community, but rather a part of it. We are proud to be locals! As a result, we collaborate with various organizations outside of GC for the common purpose of supporting diversity education. All of our events are open to the community unless otherwise noted.
i. Minority Youth & Business (Visit MYB page): Minority Youth & Business, also known as “MYB”, is a week-long summer program designed to educate minority students on the merits of entrepreneurship. As a partnership between the Cultural Center/Equity & Diversity Office and the College of Business, this program has empowered students with skills for college success and provided a launching point for several individuals who are successful business owners in the local community.
ii. 100 Black Men of Milledgeville: Chiefly through MALE Connection, the Cultural Center has partnered with the local chapter of the 100 Black Men in order to unite efforts to bolster success of young Black Men.
iii. Cultural Center Advisory Board: In order to better serve both internal and external constituents, the Cultural Center has “advisory board” of interested/influential allies. This creates strategic connections that will increase opportunities for collaboration and growth. If you’re interested in learning more about how to get involved with this board, please contact Emmanuel Little at email@example.com.
