The Office of Disability Services at Georgia College is committed to the lifelong development of individuals with disabilities. We envision a learning community that is welcoming of all individuals – one that embraces and celebrates the diversity of the campus while being sensitive to and supportive of the individual needs of each person. To this end, we strive to create an inclusive, informed, and accessible campus, community, and society. We will implement innovative practices and employ technological advances, educating and collaborating with students, faculty, staff and administrators, to accomplish our vision.
The mission of Disability Services, in partnership with the university community, is to create an accessible, inclusive campus where all individuals with disabilities have an equal opportunity to fully participate in and benefit from all aspects of the employment and educational environment. We provide accommodations and related services to Georgia College individuals with documented disabilities to fulfill our institutional commitment of equal access to employment, facilities, courses, programs, and activities. Disability Services serves as a resource for students, faculty, staff and the community regarding disability issues.
Admissions decisions are based on a combination of factors. Students with disabilities are considered for admission according to the same criteria as any other student. Once admitted to Georgia College, students with disabilities seeking accommodations should contact the Office of Disability Services as early as possible to begin the process of seeking accommodations and appropriate services.
