Georgia College Early College Mentioned in White Paper for Carnegie Commission on Math and Science

According to Dawn Cooper at the BOR, Sue Goldberger was recently asked to do a white paper to the Carnegie Commission on Math and Science about promising lines of research for closing the achievement gap in math. Dawn helped her author a paper. In making an argument for the promise of early college, they cited a few examples of early college high schools with open enrollment policies that are  already beating the odds in math achievement. They plan to mention Georgia College Early College in the final paper as a school that even in its early stages is showing significant growth in students' math achievement. The paper won't go into detail on the specific design and practices of GCEC, but it will use GCEC math data as a way of illustrating what early college can do.
