Georgia College Early College is an opportunity of a lifetime for one group of students in Baldwin and Putnam Counties.
Class sizes, individual attention, and college prep courses, give these middle schoolers the resources and motivation needed to go beyond high school. They will become first generation college graduates in their families. These middle schoolers are excited about learning and look forward about going to college.
"What we're trying to do is find the most creative and enjoyable way to instruct these students and accelerate them to the point that they'll be ready to go to college earlier than their peers would be," explains 8th grade teacher, Chuck Puckett.
Teachers provided one on one attention for their students. They build relationships based on trust. Administrators say that's what makes the school succeed and the students agree.
