Early Childhood Math

Endorsement programs at the graduate level are offered to teachers wishing to add areas of expertise to their current State of Georgia Teacher Certification.  One of the endorsement programs is offered in early childhood mathematics through the Mathematics Department. This program is designed for early childhood  teachers interested in learning how to better meet the math needs of the students in his/her classroom. The program addresses the competencies required by the Professional Standards Commission's Georgia Math Endorsement. Enrollment will be restricted to graduate students.

Application Procedures
Endorsement candidates need three items for acceptance into the program:

  1. Submit a University Admissions Form including application fee, if applicable.
  2. Submit official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended (except GCSU)
  3. Submit proof of T-4 Certification

MAED 6030 - Data Analysis and Probability for Teachers (3)
MAED 6040 - Geometry for Teachers (3)
 
Total Semester Hours = 12

Certification
Candidates seeking endorsements must be recommended by the GCSU certification officer to the Professional Standards Commission.

Note from Professional Standards Commission: To be eligible for the Early Childhood Mathematics Endorsement the applicant must hold a Clear Renewable Certificate in Early Childhood Education (P-5).
