The Georgia College & State University Collegiate Middle Level Association and the John H. Lounsbury College of Education will host the Eighth Annual Summit on Middle Level Education on October 5th, 2012. Our theme this year is Building Positive Relationships. With a focus on student, teacher, parent and community relationships, we expect attendees to walk away with a better understanding of the power of positive relationships within a school-wide community. The Summit provides middle grades educators, in-service as well as pre-service, a wonderful opportunity to engage in a meaningful one-day professional development experience at a most reasonable cost! Keynote speaker, Mr. Mark Springer, founder and teacher of the eighth-grade program described in Soundings: A Democratic Student-Centered Education will be highlighted. The program also will include theme-related, breakout sessions presented by successful practitioners.
