Full-Time University K-12 and Community Liaison Job Description

GOAL: to coordinate effective partnerships with Host and Professional Partner Schools, the Community, and the University.

Job Responsibilities:

Plan and implement Partner School Retreats or activities, one per semester.
 
Maintain Host and Professional Partner school agreements.

Publish and disseminate Partner School Newsletter.

Assist with annual Induction Workshop.

Coordinate Experiential Transcripts and Service Learning for COE students.

Work with University Collaborators to maintain positive and productive relationships and match resources to the needs of our Host and Professional Partner Schools.

Identify community resources to benefit COE programs and Host and Professional Partner Schools.

Promote COE programs, students, faculty and Host and Professional Partner Schools through public relations.

Increase Liaison, COE faculty and COE student visibility at Host and Professional Partner School functions to deepen our relations.

Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of the Liaison activities.

Maintain ongoing communication with mentor leaders and in Host and Professional Partner Schools in order to keep all parties current on all information of interest.

Attend and participate in various public and private human services groups and agencies in the community to enhance and maintain knowledge of the community needs.

Assist COE faculty in planning creative resources to enhance their classes.

Maintain adequate documentation and records for Liaison program.

Have planned time to be available to participate in local activities and events.

Collaborate with CATS, Art, Music and other GC Departments to bring more opportunities into our Partner schools.

Assist in beginning a recruitment effort in local high schools to recruit students who are interested in becoming a teacher.
 
Plan and implement an annual host teacher appreciation activity.

Assist in bringing more diversity understanding to our COE cohort students.

Encourage and assist in planning International experiences for Host and Professional Partner Schools using resources from GC International program.

Pursue an Arts focus by researching funding from various local and national sources to expand arts integration in the undergraduate program and bring together the community, entire University, local artists and Partner schools.

Attend conferences and informational meetings to stay abreast of current ideas and practices with Host and Professional Partner Schools.

Other responsibilities as assigned.
