- Be a legal resident of Georgia
- Be a graduate of a Georgia public high school
- Be enrolled in a Georgia public college as a full-time undergraduate
- Be classified as a Junior or Senior level student and admitted to the department of education of the college
- Have a cumulative grade average of 3.25 or higher
- Indicate a strong desire to be a teacher

Hollings Scholarship from the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration is a scholarship for future science teacher candidates who will be juniors.
The PROMISE Teacher Scholarship (Service-Cancelable Loans for Undergraduate Students) has been suspended for 2010-2011.
Other Scholarships Awarded to GC Education Students
PAGE Scholarships are offered to pre-service and in-service teacher. In 2010 Jessica Lynn McCloskey won the SPAGE undergraduate Scholarship. She is an Early Childhood Education Major.

Amy W. Carter was awarded the PAGE Support Personnel Scholarship for 2011. She works at Samuel E. Hubbard Elementary School in the Monroe County School System. She is pursuing an M.Ed. in School Improvement.

Obama's Hispanic Scholarship Fund. In 2010 Elizabeth Keilhauer, a junior majoring in middle grades education at GC, won one of the twelve scholarships funded through the money President Obama received when he won the Nobel Peace Prize. Ms. Keilhauer will receive $2,500 a year for two years. Elizabeth grew up in El Salvador and volunteers with Special Olympics.
