Emerging Leaders | Overview
The GC Emerging Leaders Program offers incoming freshmen the opportunity to clarify values, explore interests, develop leadership skills, learn about leadership opportunities at Georgia College, and build relationships with others who are interested in making a difference at the university and in the community.
Emerging Leaders is a year-long program with events offered during both Fall and Spring. Program activities include leadership retreats, service projects, guest speakers, and leadership discussions/workshops.
Students who successfully complete the requirements of the program will receive a certificate to denote participation at a closing ceremony held in their honor, and they will automatically qualify for acceptance into the GC Leadership Certificate Program (www.gcsu.edu/lcp) – if they have maintained a minimum GPA of 3.0.
All GC students beginning their freshman year during Summer or Fall of 2011 are invited to register for Emerging Leaders.
Early Registration Deadline | August 12, 2011
Students registering by this deadline are guaranteed a spot in the program.
Final Registration Deadline | August 26, 2011
Students registering by this deadline will be accepted if there are spots available.
TO REGISTER, students must:
1. Complete the online Emerging Leaders Program Registration Form.
2. Submit a $50 program registration fee along with the Emerging Leaders Program Registration Card to the Georgia College Business Office. The $50 registration fee covers the cost of participation in all Emerging Leaders events and the purchase of an Emerging Leaders t-shirt.
Checks can be made payable to Georgia College. Payment can be made on campus at 111 Parks Hall or mailed to Georgia College Business Office, GC Campus Box 022, Milledgeville, GA 31061.
Registration will be incomplete until both the registration form has been completed and the registration fee paid. Students withdrawing from the program prior to August 26, 2011 will be given a full refund. Students withdrawing from the program on or after August 26, 2011 will forfeit the full registration fee.
