Fire Watch Procedures

Georgia College believes that safeguarding the personal welfare of its students and employees is of paramount importance at all campus locales and in all buildings.  A Fire Watch is required by NFPA 101, 2000 ed. 9.6.1.8 and 9.7.6 during times when the buildings fire systems are down for more than 4 hours and where life safety systems are impacted.

These procedures and guidelines are designed to ensure that when life safety systems are impaired during times of renovation, maintenance, inspection, and out of service, appropriate measures are taken to provide safety for those occupants in the building until the system has been repaired, tested, and placed back into service.
