CONNECTING WHAT MATTERS

Academic Engagement

Academic Outreach
As part of the Community Action Team for Service (CATS), GCSU students serve the surrounding area by leading experiential programming for students in local schools.

American Humanics
American Humanics provides a certificate in nonprofit management that accompanies a 4-year bachelor's degree.  This program is open to students from all disciplines.

Experiential Transcript
The experiential transcript reflects a student's total learning experience at GCSU by documenting the wide range of educational opportunities outside the classroom.

Georgia Education Mentorship (GEM) Program
In the GEM Program, many of Georgia's outstanding leaders serve as mentors for GCSU students, providing opportunities to identify and understand the qualities of leadership that benefit both the professional world and the community.

Leadership Certificate Program
The Leadership Certificate Program provides ongoing leadership development opportunities for participating students through direct and purposeful instruction and experience.

Service Learning
Courses utilizing Service Learning components give students the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge from the classroom to real world settings as they provide a beneficial service to the community.

Student Research
The Corinthian: The Journal of Student Research at GCSU and the annual GCSU Student Research Conference provide opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines to publish and present scholarly research.
