The experiential transcript reflects a student's total learning experience at Georgia College by documenting the wide range of educational opportunities outside the classroom. Members of the faculty and staff who provide oversight for the quality of these experiences validate the documentation.
There are seven categories documented on a student's experiential transcript.
Service Learning This category documents service experiences linked to a specific class and designed to enhance or reinforce classroom knowledge. Please note: service learning hours must be reported by a supervising member of the faculty.
Community Service This category documents service that meets a community need but is not linked to a specific class. These hours are reported through the GIVE Center, the university's volunteer community service clearing house.
Internships This category documents professional experiences that provide an opportunity to put classroom knowledge into practice or learn more about a specific profession. Students are responsible for posting their internships along with name of supervising faculty.
Scholarly and Creative Endeavors This category documents activities or performances that demonstrate scholarly or creative endeavors beyond the classroom. This category includes conference presentations, and theatrical or musical performances. Students are responsible for posting these experiences along with name of supervising faculty.
Study Abroad This category documents credit-bearing study abroad experiences. Students are responsible for posting these experiences along with name of supervising faculty.
Awards & Recognition This category documents formal recognitions by affiliated Georgia College organizations. Students are responsible for posting these experiences along with the name of a faculty or staff member for verification.
