Diveristy Scholars Program
Georgia College promotes several important principles as vital factors to the preparation of our students. The respect for human diversity is listed among these significant principles. As Liberal Arts educators and scholars, we play an essential role in preparing our students to become leaders and engaged citizens.
How do you include Diversity in your work as a faculty member, researcher or community servant? How does this work help prepare your students to become engaged and global citizens?
The Commission on Diversity and the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity (OIED) are sponsoring a series entitled, Diversity Scholars. This program will replace the Multicultural Mini Grant program.
Ten Georgia College faculty will be selected to study the connection between diversity and their fields of study and work.
The selection process occurs between September 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010.
The fields of study and research areas are open. Some examples of possible submissions may include faculty led discussions on diversity, presentations on diversity, departmental collaborative efforts that promote diversity in teaching or other activities that promote diversity in your work. Written documents will be developed into a series of White Papers on Diversity at Georgia College.
