President's Scholarship Competition (Freshmen)

Georgia College & State University, Georgia's public liberal arts university, is pleased to announce the annual President's Scholarship Competition, December 4, 2009.

Please visit the President's Scholarship Competition website for online registration and program updates.  If you have additional questions, contact the Office of Admissions and New Student Programs at (478) 445-0948.

Selected participants will compete for scholarships totaling approximately $200,000 for undergraduate studies at Georgia College.  Trustee Scholarships valued at $24,000 ($6,000 per year for four years) and Presidential Scholarships for 16,000 ($4,000 per year for four years) are among the most prestigious awards that will be offered to freshman with superior academic accomplishments.  Scholarship recipients will be granted a stipend to be used toward a Study Abroad program to enhance their liberal arts experience.

In addition, several other scholarships will be offered to top competitors including the Vera L. Vincent Scholarship, designated for studies in the arts and sciences, as well as other awards.

All selected competitors will be granted early admission to Georgia College's Honors Program.

Some scholarships do require an additional application which can be accessed at www.gcsu.edu/financialaid/scholarships.  Priority for GCSU Scholarships is given to students who participate in the Early Action Admissions process (November 2, 2009).
