The ability to award scholarships to our
students allows GCSU to remain competitive
with other institutions. As GCSU grows into
its unique mission, as Georgia’s public
liberal arts university, the caliber of
students attending our institution continues
to increase. As GCSU strives to become an
institution of national prominence it is
imperative that we are able to award
competitive scholarship packages. Your
contribution to a GCSU scholarship fund will
allow us to keep admitting and retaining the
best and brightest students.
The Georgia College & State University Alumni
Association and the University Foundation
proudly award more than 50 named, endowed
student scholarships annually. These
scholarships were established by alumni and
friends of the university, often to honor or
memorialize loved ones. When you create an
endowed scholarship, you establish a
permanent tradition. Truly the gift that
keeps giving, your endowed fund will reward
the brightest and most deserving GCSU
students for generations. The spending policy
of the Alumni Association and Foundation has
been established to ensure that each
scholarship will increase annually, while
providing students with needed assistance.
Across the campus there is a significant need
to attract and retain students each year.
This fund helps to meet that need by
providing scholarships to those students who
are either in need of this support or who,
through their educational accomplishments,
merit such support. Support is also reserved
for the best and brightest students among
each year’s incoming freshman class.
Donations to this Fund help GCSU compete
with other universities in attracting
exceptional students.
