The GIVE Team

 

Purpose 

To identify a select group of students who have worked with The GIVE Center for at least one semester and who have a passion for service. They also need to believe in the mission of The GIVE Center.  The GIVE Center mission is to engage individuals in experiences which not only "prepare a student for a career, but for life as a citizen;" we will achieve this by inspiring individuals, One at a Time, to leave their legacy through volunteerism, leadership, and collaboration. Responsibilities

  • Assists with presentations to classes, civic groups, residence halls, student organizations
  • Decides on mini-service (Inspire By Example) grants awardees
  • Participate as the service focus group
  • Participate in volunteer recruitment fairs & orientations
  • Serve as a GIVE Center representative
  • Act as a role model to volunteers and servant leaders
  • Assist us with Graduation Brunch for seniors
  • Assist us with alumni gathering during Alumni Weekend

 

Selection

  • Applicants must be a GC Student
  • Applicants must have a minimum GPA of a 2.5
  • Applicants must have polished presentation skills
  • Applicants must have a passion to serve and believe in volunteerism
  • Applicants must have worked with GIVE Center for a minimum of a year as a Comm. Serv. Rep. or Servant Leader

Meet the Team

Our 2012-2013 GIVE Team is lead by Ashley Pittman.  The rest of our team includes: Kelly Mainor, Alex Dixon, Thad Thompson, Barrett Roell, Michael Morris, Rebecca Cherry, Daniel Morris, Graham Hardwood, Courtney LaHatte and Michele McGuire.
