Faculty News: Professor has chapter published

Costas Spirou, Ph.D., Department Chair and Professor of Sociology published a chapter titled "The Quest for Global City Status: Politics, Neoliberalism and Stadium Development" in The New Territorialities of Sport in the City. The book was edited by Sylvain Lefebvre, Romain Roult and Jean-Pierre Augustin (University of Quebec Press, 2013.) 

This work is part of an ongoing research agenda that focuses on public policy making, cultural planning, tourism, and urban identity, including the role of globalization in urban status. The book is part of the Contemporary Geography Studies series which includes volumes on public policy and urban redevelopment, the role of democracy in metropolitan change and regeneration and economic growth.
