The master of public administration program offers advanced education in the knowledge, skills, competencies, and perspectives needed for effective, efficient, responsible, and humane public managers. Graduates of the program should have the knowledge and skills needed to manage public service organizations, to understand the public policy and organizational environment of public administration, and to apply quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques to public policy issues.

·         Application for Admission – Students may Apply Online or Apply by Mail

 

·         Transcripts

One official copy of all transcripts from undergraduate and graduate institutions should be submitted to the Graduate Admissions Office at the time of application or at least eight weeks prior to the start of classes.

 

·         Standardized Tests
Public Administration requires the GRE (general test only) or MAT for admission. To be granted regular admission status, the applicant must score at least 1200 on the MPA admissions formula using the GRE, or at least 670 on the formula using the MAT. The formula is:

GRE verbal score + GRE quantitative score + (100 times undergraduate grade point average) OR

MAT scaled score + (GPA x 100).

Applicants may be granted provisional admission status if a score is under 1200 with the GRE or 670 with the MAT on the admissions formula.

·         Health Forms
Students are required to submit immunization records. The Certificate of Immunization (pdf) requires a physician’s signature.
