What’s your best idea to make cities more successful?
The Knight Foundation would like to hear from you by 5pm ET on Friday, November 14th.
You don’t have to be a professional grant writer to apply: The initial application asks for two primary pieces of information about your project in 150 words or less; you don’t even need to give a budget or amount.
There are just two rules:
- Your project must take place in or benefit one or more of the 26 Knight communities. They include: Aberdeen, S.D.; Akron, Ohio; Biloxi, Miss.; Boulder, Colo.; Bradenton, Fla.; Charlotte, N.C.; Columbia, S.C.; Columbus, Ga.; Detroit; Duluth, Minn.; Fort Wayne, Ind.; Gary, Ind.; Grand Forks, N.D.; Lexington, Ky.; Long Beach, Calif.; Macon, Ga.; Miami; Milledgeville, Ga.; Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Palm Beach County, Fla.; Philadelphia; San Jose, Calif.; State College, Pa.; St. Paul, Minn.; Tallahassee, Fla.; and Wichita, Kan.
- Your idea must focus on one or all of three key drivers of city success: attracting and retaining talent, expanding economic opportunity, and creating a culture of robust civic engagement.
