Welcome to the Greenhouse

The Georgia College & State University Greenhouse features a diverse collection of over 300 exotic plant species from around the world. The greenhouse serves as a teaching and research laboratory for Georgia College students and faculty. The main collection hosts a wide variety of cacti, succulents, orchids and other tropical plants such as bromeliads, ficus, ferns and asparagus. The greenhouse is open for educational tours and special events throughout the year. Please browse our web page for more information on how to enjoy and learn from the GCSU Greenhouse.

Georgia College's Teaching Greenhouse was completed in 1987. It serves the educational and research goals of the university and the community. The greenhouse includes two buildings:  a main greenhouse that contains the public display space, 507 square feet, and the research area, 618 square feet, and a smaller greenhouse 215 square feet, that is used for plant propagation and material storage.

The Research Greenhouse on the Herty Hall Roof was completed in 2011 and presently facilitates research being conducted by our faculty and students.
