The Georgia Undergraduate Research Conference will take place on the University of North Georgia, Gainesville campus on November 2nd and 3rd, 2018. Below is a brief description of the activities planned for each day. Please check this page often, as schedules may change.
Friday, November 2, 2018
Opening reception: GURC kicks off with an opening reception, hosted at UNG Gainesville's Student Center. Please see the Campus Map for directions. The opening reception will include games, social activities with door prizes, professional events, and a chance to interact with faculty and staff from different institutions. Food and refreshments will be provided.
Saturday, November 3, 2018
Presentations: Oral research presentations, poster sessions, visual presentations, and performances will take throughout the day at University of North Georgia's Martha T. Nesbitt building. Check back for a detailed schedule for room and time information.
Luncheon and Keynote address: Lunch will be provided to all students and faculty registered for the conference. During the luncheon, Dr. Edward J Coyle will deliver the keynote speech.
Dr. Coyle is the John B. Peatman Distinguished Professor at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he also holds the position of Arbutus Chair for the Integration of Research and Education. He is the co-founder of the Vertically-Integrated Projects (VIP) program, a program that supports and guides the involvement of undergraduate students in research across a wide range of disciplines and universities.
Graduate School Fair: Representatives from several universities will be on hand to present information and answer questions about the graduate programs available at their institutions.
