About The High Achievers Program...
The High Achievers Program is a unique, highly-structured, and very comprehensive youth development program designed to help young people reach their full potential and have a solid base for learning and growing. By participating in high quality educational programming, exposure to different countries and cultures, and leadership development/enrichment activities that include employment knowledge and experience, youth are encouraged to become effective and participatory future leaders.
Activities run after school, during summers, and school holidays. There are four components that make up the High Achievers Program:
Peace Corp
Health Education (Includes Mental and Physical Health)
Youth Voice/Leadership
Career Exploration (Includes Speaker Series)
Mayors Commission on Youth Development
During the academic year, funding supports students from grades nine through twelve, with weekly academic and leadership enrichment programming 4 to 5 days per week. During the spring break and summer, activities support elementary youth in camp programs lead by High Achievers. For more information, see our brochure (pdf).
