Honors Program applications are reviewed by an Honors/Admissions selection committee. The committee considers academic achievement and potential, evidence of intellectual curiosity, record of leadership and service and special talents (e.g. athletic, artistic and other).
Applicants should have a minimum SAT score of 1200 (or a minimum ACT score of 26) and a minimum high school GPA of 3.50 (as calculated by our Admissions Office). International students should have a 3.50+ high school GPA and an 88+ TOEFL score. See box to right for last year's average scores.
Application and Deadlines
Collegiate Entry/Transfer Students
Currently enrolled students with an institutional GPA of 3.70 or above may apply to the Honors Program at the end of their first or second semester on campus (after grades are in).
Transfer students with a 3.70+ college GPA and 30 or less hours of collegiate credit may also apply.
Collegiate entry/transfer student applicants should submit a half-page statement explaining their interest in the Honors Program, a résumé and an official academic transcript.
