Honors Program applications are reviewed by an Honors/Admissions selection committee. The committee considers academic achievement and potential, evidence of intellectual curiosity, record of leadership and service and special talents (e.g. athletic, artistic and other).
Applicants should have a minimum SAT score of 1200 (or a minimum ACT score of 26) and a minimum high school GPA of 3.50 (as calculated by our Admissions Office). International students should have a 3.50+ high school GPA and an 88+ TOEFL score. See box to right for last year's average scores.
Application and Deadlines
Our Early Action deadline is December 1. Applications will then be accepted on a rolling basis beginning January 1st and ending April 1. Applicants can expect to hear back from us via e-mail the first week of January for Early Action and two to four weeks after they submit their application for regular admission. Students admitted to the Honors Program are required to confirm acceptance of the offer to join the program.
Collegiate Entry/Transfer Students
Currently enrolled students with an institutional GPA of 3.70 or above may apply to the Honors Program at the end of their first or second semester on campus (after grades are in).
Transfer students with a 3.70+ college GPA may also apply.
Collegiate entry/transfer student applicants should submit a half-page statement explaining their interest in the Honors Program, a resume, an official academic transcript and a letter of recommendation from a faculty member.
