APPLICATION/SELECTION

Honors Program applications are reviewed by a faculty selection committee. The committee considers academic achievement and potential, evidence of intellectual curiosity, record of leadership and service, and special talents (e.g., athletic, artistic, and other).

Applicants must have a minimum SAT score of 1200 (or a minimum ACT score of 26) and a minimum high school GPA of 3.50 (as calculated by our Admissions Office). International students must have a 3.50+ high school GPA and an 88+ TOEFL score. See box to right for last year's average scores.

Deadlines

Honors Program applications must be received by February 1 for priority consideration and March 1 for regular consideration. If the 1st falls on a weekend, the deadline becomes the next work day.

Complete the 2012 HONORS APPLICATION

February 1 applicants will be notified of their Honors application status via e-mail before the end of February; March 1 applicants will be notified before the end of March.

Students admitted to the Honors Program must let us know whether or not they accept via e-mail by May 1.

Collegiate Entry/Transfer Students

Currently enrolled students with an institutional GPA of 3.60 or above may apply to the Honors Program at the end of their second semester on campus.

Transfer students with a 3.60+ college GPA and 30 or less hours of collegiate credit may also apply.

Collegiate entry/transfer student applicants should submit a half-page statement explaining their desire to join the Honors Program, a resume, and an official academic transcript. The deadline for collegiate entry/transfer student applications is July 10.
