Director's Note

As we say farewell to 2009, we can look back over the fall semester with a great deal of pride in our students' accomplishments in the classroom and their leadership on campus.

Thanks to them, it is clear that the Honors Program has a special role to play in advancing Georgia College's overall academic reputation. Our program's goals will remain closely aligned with the institution's goals. This will mean, among other things, playing a central role in recruiting academically talented students, maintaining our emphasis on global education, and placing increased emphasis on service, service-learning, and civic engagement as we move forward.

I am grateful for the support of the administration, the faculty, and members of the newly created Honors Student Council. I am especially grateful this semester to Meredith Carpenter and Katelyn Hebert for their leadership of the Honors RLC, and I look forward to working with Logan Herrin and Mia McMahon to take the RLC to the next level of excellence.
