Requirements
Honors students are required to complete 20 hours of Honors coursework (Honors courses or Honors options) in order to graduate with Honors.
Honors students are required to maintain a 3.30 institutional GPA. Students who fall below this minimum will be placed on Honors academic probation for one semester. Students on Honors academic probation may not take Honors classes or participate in Honors activities. Failure to achieve a 3.30 GPA or above at the end of academic probation will result in dismissal from the program. There is no opportunity for readmission.
Honors students are required to remain in good standing with the program. This means taking at least one Honors course or Honors option each year. (Our expectation is that Honors students will take two Honors courses or Honors options each semester for their first four semesters.)
There is a strong expectation that Honors students will fully participate in the intellectual, cultural, and social life of the Honors Program. This means participating in dinner-seminars, book discussions, the Honors Residential Learning Community, and Eta Sigma Alpha.
There is also a strong expectation that Honors students will contribute to campus and/or the community, assuming leadership roles in campus organizations and/or serving in the community.
Finally, Honors students are expected to exhibit the highest standards of personal behavior. Honors students found to be in violation of the Honor Code and/or the Code of Conduct may be dismissed from the program at the discretion of the director and the Honors Council.
