Employment Services

Robin McDonald, Assistant Director

Employment Services oversees the hiring of benefited staff, temporary staff and student employees. Our office partners with Academic Affairs to hire Faculty which includes on-boarding: conducting background checks, completing I-9 forms, etc. Our focus is to recruit and hire candidates who are committed to Georgia College's mission of enriching the lives of students and the local and global communities through teaching, research, and service. We believe a talented and diverse workforce will create an environment that will foster creativity and respect for contributions.

Compensation and Benefits

Crystal Reeves, Assistant Director

Classification & Compensation Services (Class & Comp)

Works in partnership with department managers to provide assistance in interpreting and applying fair and consistent evaluation of positions and equitable compensation.

Services Include:

  • Position classifications
  • PA7 Position Management (staff and students)
  • Salary equity analysis
  • Position descriptions
  • Reorganizations

Benefits Services

Assists faculty and staff in understanding their benefit programs which include private consultations, seminars/workshops, vendor fairs and orientations.

Services Include:

  • Benefits administration (potential employees, new hires, existing employees, separating employee, and retirees)
  • Open enrollment
  • ADP Benefits Self Service portal (BOSS).


Training and Professional Development

Daniel Simpson, Professional Development and Training Specialist

The Training and Professional Development functional area of the Office of Human Resources is responsible for providing the Georgia College community with an opportunity for continued improvement and development through providing compliance training and new employee orientation in addition to professional development and enrichment opportunities.

Services Include:

  • Campus Training Coordinator

  • Repository for Training Transcripts


Performance Management

Carol Ward, Associate Director of Human Resources

The Performance Management functional area is essential to supporting management in cultivating the skillsets of a goal-oriented and productive workforce. Our goal is to foster a culture of employee engagement by ensuring that each employee is aware of the expectations related to their roles and responsibilities as it relates to achieving the University’s mission, vision and departmental goals. Performance Management is based on the principles of setting expectations, coaching and evaluating performance which are fundamental elements of the overall performance management process.

Patrice Terrell, Associate Director of Employee Relations

The mission of the Employee Relations function within the Office of Human Resources is to provide exemplary customer services to both employees and managers to foster a collaborative work environment. Employee Relations focuses on promoting good workplace behaviors that are respectful, reasonable and responsible.
